Gather round oh young and old
For I´ve got a story to tell
A story that the Scottish spread
Of the places where they hail from

It´s all about a creature
Elusive weird and rare
Sought by many but seen by none
And enjoyed by those who care

Once a Scotsman spotted one
And he caught it by the feet
He took it home to show his wife
His children and to eat

They skinned the ugly critter
And put it in a pot
His wife and children cried hurrah
That´s the best thing I´ve ever got

Fear nae the Haggis lads
It would nae harm a fly
It moves around in circles
Short legs up the mountainside

The Scotsman tried to catch a new
But he never found more
He tried to retrace his steps
And do exactly as before

But the Haggis
They never reappeared
He´d eaten the last
Which was exactly as he feared

Well they were trying to reinvent the taste
And they tried everything
Pork and beef, mutton chops
And they even asked the king

The king he spoke
Take all the leftover meat
Mix it all up with sheep intestine
Get the people to eat
