Festival Grooves
03:54
|
|||
We're all in this together
Through hell and stormy weather
We're dancing as the sun is shining down
I've never seen it better
I hope it lasts forever
We're dancing as the sun is shining
Up in the sky there's a big shiny light
And it's driving us out of control
Never missing a beat, you're all feeling the heat
It's a massive free-for-all
(It’s festival grooves)
Dance, drink all night long
Let's keep the party going til the break of dawn
Dance, drink all night long
Fuck Around
The love it strong
Dance, drink all night long
Everybody's moving to the beat of the drums
Dance drink all night long
We’re gonna give it our all
It's cause for celebration
All across the nation
We're dancing as the moon is rising up
This whole situation
Screams party radiation
We're dancing as the moon is
Raise your shoulders up high, point your hands to the sky
Give us one more to take for the road
Now without any sound, put 'em down on the ground
And get ready to explode
(It’s festival grooves)
Dance, drink all night long
Let's keep the party going til the break of dawn
Dance, drink all night long
Fuck Around
The love it strong
Dance, drink all night long
Everybody's moving to the beat of the drums
Dance drink all night long
We’re gonna give it our all

When I was just a little lad, or so me Mammi told me
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
That if I didn't kiss the girls me lips would grow all mouldy
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Away! HO! Haul away, we'll haul away together
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Away! HO! Haul away, we're bound for better weather
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
I used to have a Yankee girl but she got fat and lazy
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Then I met an Irish girl she damn near drove me crazy
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Saint Patrick was a gentleman, he came from decent people
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
He built a church in Dublin Town and on it put a steeple
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Oh Louis was the king of France before the Revolut-i-on
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Then he got his head chopped off & it spoiled his constitut-i-on
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
Ya call yourself a "Second Mate", ye cannae tie a bowline
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe
You can't even stand up straight when the packet, she's a-rollin'
Away Haul Away, we'll haul away, Joe

Take Me Back
02:42
|
|||
When I was 17 I told my brother in the navy
To please come back and save me from a life I never lived
I squandered all my money lost the things I took for granted
With nothing left but a banjo and a birthmark on my wrist
Take me back to the days of old
When things were so much better
When life was perfect and we didn't have a clue
Take me back to the days of old
And make my heart more certain
That all we ever did was enough
Enough to make it through
Do you remember how we used to laugh
Remember how we loved
We sang and drank made memories
And watched the days go by
But times do change eventually
When old turns into new you see
When we were counting stars
Even the days turned into nights
Take me back to the days of old
When things were so much better
When life was perfect and we didn't have a clue
Take me back to the days of old
And make my heart more certain
That all we ever did was enough
Enough to make it through
To make it through
The darkest days and through the brightest nights
When we thought growing up would
Suddenly make everything alright
We made it through
The darkest days and through the brightest nights
Now we realize that growing up will
Never set things right
Take me back to the days of old
When things were so much better
When life was perfect and we didn't have a clue
Take me back to the days of old
And make my heart more certain
That all we ever did was enough
Take me back to the days of old
When things were so much better
When life was perfect and we didn't have a clue
Take me back to the days of old
And make my heart more certain
That all we ever did was enough
It was enough
So take me back

Where's Your Future?
03:33
|
|||
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm glad you're here to see.
The man with an education but no place to be.
A temporary contract is all the future holds.
Easy to get rid of you, not what we ve been told.
If you want a steady job, you'd better be the best.
Not at what you do or what you say, just better than the rest.
As long as they can ditch you when the market takes its fall.
As long as you can work and work and work to pay them all.
Ditch ‘em when the market falls
Work and work to pay them all
Where’s your future?
You have a family to feed? Want a place to live?
That's not our fault, not ours to relieve.
We need your cheap labour, not your service years.
There's more where you came from, falls on deaf ears.
Job security is a thing of the past.
You're not the first, you'll never be the last.
Give us your years, we'll repay you with change.
Your life is spent right here in chains.
Ditch ‘em when the market falls
Work and work to pay them all
Where’s your future?
You said you wanted freedom, well here you fucking go
You'll never own a goddamn thing, now get on with the show
Pay your bills your taxes and your health insurance too
While rent is getting higher there's no wage increase for you
Welcome to the ratrace, the best time of your life
Enjoy your stay, it's only everyday from 9 to 5
The rythm of the daily grind, the rythm of the whip
The only question on your lips: "Where's your future?"
Prices going up, unemployment even higher.
The man in the suit, he's nothing but a liar.
He'll promise you the world but when it comes to it.
He's nowhere to be found, turned your world to shit.
Now you're stuck with a house that you can't afford.
Due to regulations cutting into social norms.
There's a kid on the way who needs dinner too.
Tough luck my friend, this one’s on you!

Steelworker's Lament
05:41
|
|||
I used to work at steel mill, making 13 hour days
The wage unfair, the boss don't care, at least I was getting paid
Until that misty morning when the factory burned down
Old John took out his lighter and he burned her to the ground
Enough's enough he said, as he crouched down and lit the fuse
Then from below, a mighty blow, revenge for his abuse
All around me piles of steel and stone came crashing down
I tried to run but realized I wasn't getting out
In the midst of all the chaos John was plotting his escape
He knew full well what he had done to everyone that day
They pushed his buttons oh so hard he felt he had no choice
To stand up to the bigger man and let him hear his voice
Dazed by the explosion and the panic that it brought
I tried to find my footing and make sense of all my thoughts
Then I heard the voice of old John ringing in my head
I focused on the sound and I remembered what he said
I will survive
I'll keep fighting, kicking, screaming for my life
And every breath I take is huge
There's fire all around me, I'm stuck in this steel mill
I danced with the devil, he wants me to heel, but
Giving up will be the last thing that I'll do
Now old John was nothing but a kind, God-fearing man,
but still he kinda lost it when his pay was docked again
Boss had no valid reason to deduct his salary
but simply said: “you haven’t earned enough money for me.
So what I lost on chasing all these slacking employees
I will deduct from payment, give me better quantity”
The boss gave John the crooked arm, coldcocked him on the spot
In front of all the blokes old John was feeling overwrought
The voice of reason
Rang in my ears
It's all I needed to hear
I pulled myself up
By the bootstraps
Made my way out of
That hell
“Enough’s enough!” He cried and rallied workers left and right
I tried my best to not join in, I stayed out of sight
All around, in loud “Hurray!”, they joined into the fray
The fuse rolled out, was lit, and all the workers ran away
About that time the dust had almost gone and settled down
The beams were still aglow, the wood a darker shade of brown
Way up in the distance I heard sirens coming in hot
The entire pandemonium was killed by a single shot

Back Home in Derry
05:38
|
|||
In 1803 we sailed out to sea
Out from the sweet town of Derry
For Australia bound if we didn't all drown
The marks of our fetters we carried
In the rusty iron chains we cried for our wean's
Our good women we left in sorrow
As the main sails unfurled, our curses we hurled
At the English and thoughts of tomorrow
At the mouth of the Foyle, bid farwell to the soil
As down below decks we were lying
O'Doherty screamed, woken out of a dream
By a vision of bold Robert dying
The sun burned cruel as we dished out the gruel
Dan O'Connor was down with the fever
Sixty rebels today bound for Botany Bay
How many will reach their receiver?
Oh, oh, I wish I was back home in Derry (2x)
I cursed them to hell, as our bow fought the swell
Our ship danced like a moth in the firelight
Wild horses rode high as the devil passed by
Taking souls to Hades by twilight
Five weeks out to sea, we were now forty-three
We buried our comrades each morning
In our own slime, we were lost in the time
Endless night without dawning
Oh, oh, I wish I was back home in Derry
Van Diemen's land is a hell for a man
To end out his whole life in slavery
Where the climate is raw and the gun makes the law
Neither wind nor rain care for bravery
Twenty years have gone by, I've ended my bond
My comrades' ghosts walk behind me
A rebel I came, I'm still the same
On the cold winter's night you will find me
Oh, oh, I wish I was back home in Derry

Alien
04:19
|
|||
A thousand years ago
When I came into this land
Not knowing who I was
Or where I went
The choices that I made
Was it my
Golden ticket
Or my biggest mistake
I left my home behind
Always second guessing
Who to love and who to fight
Who to love and who to fight
I'm an alien
I don't believe in aliens no
I'm the one
I'm the one
I'm an alien
I don't believe in aliens no
I'm the one
I'm the one
Happy days
Oh those times are gone
Walking on eggshells
What if I go wrong
I chose this life
To avoid an early grave
Keep my people happy
Keep my people safe
I tried to fit in
But I've nothing left to give
Now I'm just trying to live
I'm an alien
I don't believe in aliens no
I'm the one
I'm the one
I'm an alien
I don't believe in aliens no
I'm the one
I'm the one

Vultures
05:08
|
|||
There's incredible horrors
They're just out of reach
There's no woman or man
Who can claim their defeat
You can pray for salvation
Or pray for relief
But there's no way of stopping
The things we unleashed
There's vultures above
And there's monsters beneath
A gargling noise
Rising up from the deep
And it's calling me
Father please save us
From what we have done
The Heavens are falling
And demons now come
There's no time to waiver
There's nowhere to run
All of the things we created
Are gone
They're circling up high
Watching over the waves
The vultures swoop in
Carried on by the gales
As we're setting sail
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Ooooh oooh
By the pale light of the moon
(Here we go)
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Oooo ooooh
And we're bound
We're bound
We're bound to get there
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Ooooh oooh
By the pale light of the moon
(Here we go)
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Oooo ooooh
And we're bound
We're bound
We're bound to get there
Soon we'll be safe
There's a haven in sight
When out of the blue
Comes a fierce beam of white
It tears off the hull
Sets the mainsails alight
The vultures cry out
As we
Drift
In
To
The
Night
The Northwinds
That brought us here
Will now guide us home
In the shadow
Of a seabound life
We'll never be alone
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Ooooh oooh
By the pale light of the moon
(Here we go)
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Oooo ooooh
And we're bound
We're bound
We're bound to get there
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Ooooh oooh
By the pale light of the moon
(Here we go)
We're sailing off
(We're sailing off)
Oooo ooooh
And we're bound
We're bound
We're bound to get there
Soon.
